Wireless Hardware Design Engineer – Zielona Góra, Poland

We are expanding our WiFi Expert Group and are looking for an experienced Wi-Fi solution architecture design engineer to ensure efficient implementation of leading vendors’ SoCs in ADB Broadband and Pay-TV CPEs.

Successful candidate will be studying and selecting latest SoCs to devise and optimize WiFi subsystem architecture of ADB CPE products. He/she will be required to efficiently communicate with the SoC vendors and with ADB ODM partners in Asia. The job requires good theoretical background in wireless data communication (WiFi in particular), at least 5 years hands-on CPE WiFi subsystem design, understanding of the SoC software drivers and controllers and good familiarity with the latest semiconductor technology and products for the WiFi systems.

Job location: our Zielona Góra office

Main responsibilities:

  • Participate in a vendor-specific wireless CPE subsystem and WiFi system spec design, key components selection, prototype development and its test
  • In depth study of available SoCs, their performance and roadmaps. Selection of most appropriate and practical WiFi solution for ADB CPEs
  • RF hardware performance characterization and tuning, including definition of SoC control s/w functions and parameters
  • Analyze WiFi CPE subsystem and the overall WiFi system behaviour and performance

Background:

  • 5+ years of relevant (WiFi SoC, WiFi subsystem design) experience
  • In depth knowledge of local wireless communication technologies used in consumer electronics devices (min. 5 years experience)
  • Hands-on experience with WiFi circuits design using latest SoCs
  • Bachelor or Master degree in wireless data communication from a recognized university

Skills and experience required:

  • Solid background in, and in-depth understanding of, the wireless communication technologies used in consumer electronics devices
  • Solid knowledge of semiconductor performance and metrology in the area of high frequency – 7GHz
  • Good knowledge of leading WiFi SoC vendors and their products
  • Good knowledge of IEEE 802 family of international standards and their development
  • Working experience with spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope, signal generator and vector network analyzer
  • Ability to create engineering reports and make presentations
  • Ability to create debugging environment
  • English: sufficient for comfortable written and spoken communication in the professional areas and for writing technical documentation (B2 or higher)

  • Willingness to learn new skills and participate in trainings

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge high frequency (gigahertz range) WiFi antennas and their integration into consumer electronics devices. Performance limitation and optimization.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor technology used for latest WiFi SoCs
  • Willingness to participate in the works of standardization bodies
  • Ability to handle tight schedules
