Human Resources Operations Specialist – Des Moines, Iowa

For our Urbandale team of 20 people we are looking for a (Senior) Human Resources Generalist, who will

  • support HR programs and services that drive organizational and employee performance and a productive work environment,
  • implement and administer both local and corporate ADB initiated processes
  • perform some admin duties related to facility management and basic accounting

You will become a member of the team developing innovative solutions in digital TV field and will cooperate with international group of HR professionals.

Job location: Des Moines – Urbandale, Iowa

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Payroll/HRIS/Benefits/401k
    • Bi-weekly processing of payroll, management of payroll system, data integrity, reporting
    • Inserting data & maintaining HR database (employee updates), performance management & travel management systems, vacation & payroll systems
    • Benefits administration – main point of contact for employees regarding medical/dental/benefits – bi-weekly HSA/cafeteria plan balancing & reporting
    • 401k (Retirement) – timely account deposits, monitoring of investments, fund selections & performance, reporting
  2. Policy and compliance
    • Provide consultation and interpretation of policies and procedures to managers and employees; HR policies’ reviews & updates
    • Maintain a working knowledge of local, state and federal regulations to ensure that employment actions and programs are in compliance
    • Quarterly and annual reporting as required by state, federal, and other regulatory agencies, maintenance of corporate records, filings and reports
  3. Employee relations, communication and activities
    • Counsel employees and managers to facilitate resolution of employee relation issues or career issues. Ensure fairness and consistency throughout the counseling process and recommended employment actions.
    • Coordinate/Organize company sponsored employee services and activities
    • Assist with the administration and presentation of employee training
  4. Staffing
    • Coordinate and oversee recruitment process – from advertising to final selection
    • Onboarding & offboarding activities & documentation
  5. Other HR duties
    • Coordinate local HR Budget – preparation, monitoring, approvals
    • Compliance and monitoring re. all labor laws/regulations
    • Annual reviews – support to managers and employees during performance management process, compensation review
    • Sales bonus plan – local coordination/review
    • Coordination of immigration/visa/consulate invitations for visitors or transfers, if required
    • Assist in carrying out safety initiatives, train managers on injury procedures and reporting
  6. Admin – facility & accounting-related duties (30%)
    • Supervision of facility budget – annual budgeting, budget review & monitoring, Purchase Requisition reviews, overseeing maintenance contracts
    • Purchase Requisitions documents preparation for: annual expenses, rental, utilities, bills each month (Employee benefits)
    • Preparation of checks and mailing invoices with payments
    • Verify payroll, social charges, 401k etc. and pass a summary list to Finance every 2 weeks for booking
    • Calculate payroll accrual & unused holiday and provide Finance a summary accrual list once a month
    • Company Insurance – annual renewal
    • Company credit cards – control issuance & termination
    • Archive documentation – tax returns, account vouchers & receipts, service, loan agreements

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or a related field and a 3+ years of HR Generalist experience
  • Strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills
  • Must be self-directed and able to work with little supervision
  • Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentially
  • SPHR/PHR Certification as a plus
