SOFTWARE SOLUTION FOR WHOLE HOME PAY-TV

New service available for your subscribers.

ADB's Multi-Room software addresses your subscribers' desire to enjoy all their Pay-TV content throughout their home on any chosen device.

It distributes full Live TV, recorded programmes and even your Video-on-Demand offers across the set-top boxes and other secure electronic devices within the home, and this regardless of the physical location of the recording or of the tuner being accessed.

Since it is a software solution, the ADB Multi-Room is significantly less expensive and more scalable than replacing existing hardware with a large physical gateway. It can even be downloaded to ADB devices already deployed via a simple over-the-air software upgrade. Being built using open DLNA standards, it is easily scalable over time: consumers can add more screens, tuners or storage capabilities, just by adding a new device to the network. They can even use existing (at home) devices like the PS3. The only requirement is that these devices must support the security features of DLNA.

ADB Multi-Room offers a strong advantage to operators who want to differentiate with an offer that is both cost-effective for them and rich in competitive functionality for their subscribers.

It has already been deployed for one of our European satellite operators and has received the "Best Product Award" at Satkrak 2011, rewarding ADB's know-how and experience in hybrid pay-TV software expertise.

Sharing Tuners

Our Multi-Room software allows different types of set-top boxes to share tuners between themselves and with other devices in the network - this in a transparent manner for the user.  Thus you can see all the channels – whether satellite or terrestrial – on all the devices in the home network.

As long as you have one tuner per box – somewhere in the network -  you can watch a different programme on each set-top box.

 

Sharing Recordings

All recorded programmes can be watched from any other connected device: the content on the Digital Video Recorder (ADB-5720SX) can be accessed and watched via the terrestrial receiver (ADB-2850ST) or the PS3TM. 

 

 

Schedule Recording

You can also schedule recordings on the non-DVR receiver, which will be recorded by the DVR.

Sharing VoD

Thanks to ADB's advanced Multi-Room solution it is also possible to view VoD content on any device in the network.

Follow-Me

This function allows you to pause a recorded programme in one room and resume watching it in another.
